Prologue
The Green Peacock case stands as a landmark in China’s environmental legal history, representing the nation’s first preventive public interest civil lawsuit aimed at protecting endangered wildlife before environmental damage occurs. This groundbreaking case has garnered international recognition; notably, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) highlighted its significance by naming it among the top ten global biodiversity cases during the 2021 World Environmental Judicial Conference.
I had the honor of joining in this historic journey, coordinating efforts across various teams to protect the habitat of this extraordinary species. Our collaborative endeavors culminated in the theatrical production “Dear Pavo Muticus,” which artistically captured both the challenges of this monumental case. Through this experience, I witnessed the power of persistence and collaboration, ensuring that the green peacock continues to thrive in its limited and rightful home in China.

Epilogue
I continue to follow the developments of this landmark case and am now planning a 2.0 version of the play, reflecting on the journey after its resolution. The original production was created before the victory, and the news of the case’s success arrived shortly after its premiere. If you are interested in this new chapter, I warmly invite you to connect with me.
Let’s bring this story to life once again—together.
